Pregnancy Massage Pregnancy brings about many changes to a woman’s body, not only physically but mentally and psychologically.
Pregnancy massage stimulates different glands in the body, which helps to stabilize hormone levels, and relieve nervous tension throughout the body.
Massage oils may help with possible stretching of the skin. Doctors agree that a relaxed mother will be more likely to have a happier and healthier pregnancy, and perhaps an easier delivery.
Massage assists with circulatory and with the lymphatic systems, thus keeping the blood flowing to both the mother and the baby, and reducing fatigue.
Massage can be beneficial in the following ways:
· Tranquil relaxation reduces pain and stress
· Relaxed mommy promotes foetal wellbeing
· Helps reduce feeling of nausea
· Minimises stretch marks by enhancing the pliability of the skin and underlying tissues.
· Combats fluid retention (oedema)
· Alleviates stress and strain on joints and muscles as a result of carrying the extra weight.
To win this awesome massage worth R220
This competition closes on the 26 April 2010 and is only open to Gauteng residents unfortunately.
This product is one of those “why didn’t I think of that” products.
It was developed as a result of something most of us who have been pregnant have experienced – morning sickness.
This bag was designed for pregnant ladies to carry around for those sudden moments when you need a vomit bag!
It is called the Morning Chicness Bag and you can buy them in packs of 10, 20 and 50 but the bonus is they are pretty – they come in a variety of colours and themes – they make morning sickness chic.
And they can also be handy to keep in your car/bag for kids who suddenly need to vomit in the most inconvenient of places.
We have an AWESOME competition this week.
It is sponsored by BabyTees. They are giving away any design/size baby grow, bib and beanie! How very awesome is that!
These items are perfect gifts for a baby shower or even a birthday gift and if you are having a baby then you have to add at least one of these babygrowers to your new additions wardrobe.
To stand in line for this stunning hamper you need to do the following.
1. Pop over to BabyTees and pick out which design you would like.
2. Leave a comment on this blog post.
3. Join the BabyTees Facebook page. Please leave a comment when you join that it is your entry to this competition so they know to add you
This competition will run until the 26 April 2010
Aromakids is a South African brand that make a variety of all natural products for babies.
The one product that we still use now even though my kids are no longer babies is Mike Mozzie. It is an all natural spray for mosquitoes so it is easy to apply and it really does keep the mozzies away. We use it a lot if we are going sitting outside.
It is also useful for spraying dogs to keep the flies away from them as well as spraying around kitchen windows to keep flies out.
It contains all natural products so can be used on babies. It does have a slight odour but nothing offensive or over-powering.
Mosquitos are a part of life in South Africa and a lot of products available contain chemicals that aren’t really desirable for small babies so this makes Mike Mozzie perfect.
When I had my son I decorated his room in the obligatory Winnie-the-Pooh theme. While I love Winnie-the-Pooh and all the associated characters it really was far from original or even cute. It was lots of yellow.
When Kiara came along I went with a bug theme which was very cute – a lot cuter than Winnie-the-Pooh anyway :-p
Nursery decor has come a long way since then! While browsing Etsy for baby shower favours I found the cutest nursery themes. It actually made me want to have a baby just so I could decorate the nursery.
This whole range is awesome. These vinyl wall stickers are removable and come in the most amazing themes and colours.
These prints are so stunning also and you can keep them up as baby grows.
This set for me is simply beautifulFor something a little more traditional and bright these stickers are also awesome.
They even have linen to choose from – I loved these.I wish I had found these mobiles for Kiara. She would have loved them.
These personalised door signs are also really lovely!
Etsy is full of stunning ideas and products. I decorated many many rooms while doing this post
There are also more traditional ideas. Spend some time browsing and getting ideas to put together the perfect nursery.
The winner of our photo shoot competition is Claire
Well done Ms Claire
Colleen and I will be in touch with you shortly!
My son was sick recently and a friend suggested I try Hot Toddy “kids sore throat lollies” which I did.
These lollies contain all natural ingredients including echinacea, zinc and vitamin C but the winner is that they are in sucker so it makes it easy to get kids to take them.
They also did help ease Cameron’s sore throat and I took a few when I wasn’t feeling so hot and the did definitely help me too
So if you child has a sore throat then I definitely recommend this product.
Please double check with your Dr or Pharmacist if your child is old enough to take them!
